The things you can do with hot water

1. Take a shower
2. Take a bath
3. Run the dishwasher
4. Wash clothes
5. Wash dishes by hand
6. Bathe your children

And why, you ask, am I making a list of things you can do with hot water? Well, because, currently, it is something I DONT have!!! The pilot light on our water heater will not stay lit. Sooooo, this morning I boiled water to wash myself. I was having flash backs of my stay in Ghana, Africa. Thank God that we usually have running hot water.

If you come to my house, be aware that you will find a pile of dishes. Let this be a warning-wash dishes when you can because you dont know when you will have your next chance lol! Thankfully, the water heater is under warranty so-crossing fingers-hopefully it wont cost us anything to replace. In the meantime, I will be dreaming of a warm shower.

Remembering Noah True

Tonight I am 10 weeks 2 days pregnant. I went to my appointment today and we were able to hear the heartbeat through the doppler!!! I was so thrilled. The doctor was impressed that we were able to hear it, saying that he generally isnt able to get it on the doppler this early.

2 pregnancies ago, this was the final day that I was pregnant with Noah. 10 weeks and 2 days. I had been spotting for nearly 2 weeks at that point. I had my last ultrasound that day. It wasnt the kind of u/s that one wants to have. There was no joking, no pictures, no talking at all. The tech turned the screen towards her and said nothing. She said nothing, because there was nothing to say.

I got a phone call that afternoon from the nurse. Bedrest and a follow up u/s that Friday to see if the baby had developed a heartbeat. I knew then it was over. I had 2 quick ultrasounds in the ER-one even the day before-and both doctors swore they could see a hb, but neither would show me the screen.

I will always remember that night. I've never begged the Lord before. I've never layed my heart at His feet quite like that before. Asking Him to cause a miracle and let your baby live is a prayer that I never imagined having to do. Coming to a point where I could place my child's life in His hands and truly trust that He holds the future and that His plan for my life and my baby's was perfect brought me to a new understanding of faith.

We 'lost' Noah on December 13, 2006 at 10weeks and 3days. Lost really isnt the word. I know exactly where he is. He is in Heaven, with my Lord. He is perfect and healthy and gets to spend eternity with God. My prayer for my children has always been that they would be full of the knowledge of the Lord and have a strong and deep faith in Him. I know my prayer was answered for Noah.

Noah means 'Rest, Comfort, Peaceful' and True reminds me that God's word is True and He give rest and comfort to the weary. Which is exactly what He did for me as He graciously mended my heart from the worst pain I had ever known. I can honestly say that, though I would never have wished my pain on my worst enemy, the closeness I felt to the Lord afterwards is an opportunity I wouldnt trade. He carried me when I couldnt stand and held me closer then He ever had before.

Thank you, Lord, for the short time I had with Noah. Thank you for allowing me to love him. Thank you for the hope I have in knowing that I will be able to stand in your embrace for all of eternity, and to know that Noah will be there too.

Arise And Be Comforted
By Christy and Nathan Knockles (Watermark)

Arise and be comforted
For the Lord, He is good to the weary
And even the young heart can tire and fall
But He knows them all
For the Lord, He will renew their strength
And they will soar on wings as eagles
And they will run and never grow weary
They will walk and not grow faint
For the Lord, He is good
Lift your eyes to the heavens
For the creator is living in you
Come surrender as you are

And know that you'll never stray too far
Let His power within you heal your heart
Lift your eyes to spacious skies
Let Him chart your way to flight
Spread your wings and fly
For the Lord, He is good

Beauty from Pain
Superchick

The lights go out all around me
One last candle to keep out the night
And then the darkness surrounds me
I know i'm alive but i feel like i've died
And all that's left is to accept that it's over
My dreams ran like sand through the fists that i made
I try to keep warm but i just grow colder
I feel like i'm slipping away

After all this has passed, i still will remain
After i've cried my last, there'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today,
Someday i'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain

My whole world is the pain inside me
The best i can do is just get through the day
When life before is only a memory
I'll wonder why God lets me walk through this place
And though i can't understand why this happened
I know that i will when i look back someday
And see how you've brought beauty from ashes
And made me as gold purified through these flames

After all this has passed, i still will remain
After i've cried my last, there'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today,
Someday i'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain

Here i am, at the end of me
Tryin to hold to what i can't see
I forgot how to hope
This night's been so long
I cling to Your promise
There will be a dawn

After all this has passed, i still will remain
After i've cried my last, there'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today,
Someday i'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain

They came they came!!

About 3 weeks ago we ordered some homeschooling books from Scholastic. They were on clearance for 1.00 a book and shipping was 2.25!! So for 12.25 (all the money in my Paypal account) we ordered everything in the picture. It took forever to get them, but I now feel like a kid in a candy store. And, of course I had to share lol!

Praying for Mary Grace

I do not know Angela as a friend, or really even an aquaintance. I do know her as a sister in the Lord. She is 19 weeks pregnant with a precious baby girl, Mary Grace.

At their recent ultrasound, Angela and her husband were given the hard news that their little girl may have some genetic abmormalities. They have since been told that preliminary results have shown that she has Triplody. Triplody is a chromosomal abnormality that gives the baby an extra copy of each chromosome. It is generally considered to not be compatable with life.

Angela and her husband have a 2 1/2 year old little girl and 2 angel babies. Angela also has an amazing faith that has been a blessing to me as I read her story.

Her blog is here http://marygraceholmes.blogspot.com/ Would you take a minute and say a prayer of healing for Mary Grace and a prayer of peace for Angela?

God Bless you.

Feeling like crap!

Okay so I am now nearly 10 weeks pregnant. How is it that I am feeling the worst I have felt the entire pregnancy? Granted, it could be something else, but the first thing I blame is being pregnant. Ug. I still have not lost my cookies and I am determined not to. Food still looks good, though. That's why I am thinking its a preggo thing.

On another note, we had a fantastic Valentines Day. My mom was willing to come and take care of our kiddos (Thank you Mom!). So, we went to Applebee's and I ate steak and garlic mashed potatoes. I need more!! Then we went to Target and looked at double strollers (Andrew will only go shopping with me on special days). We ended the day with a viewing of Fireproof at our church, Greater Alton Church. We watched the movie for free and we were served popcorn, soda, candy, cookies, brownies, and they had both a dark chocolate and white chocolate dipping fountain!! All for FREE! To top it all off, the movie rocked.

I hope you all had a great holiday. Love you!!

A taste of Spring

It has been over 60 degrees 3 of the last 4 days!! Amazing I tell you. Today we didnt even wear jackets!!

Friday we went to the BIG park on Culp Lane. Very cool park with two slides and swings, and a merry go round. I took the kids there thinking that they could play with other kids. See, we have a playground in our backyard (not ours-it belongs to the church next door) but there are never any other kids there. But, we drove clear across town on a warm, sunny, Friday afternoon for socialization and found...noone. 3 people using the walking track and that was it. Its okay, though, because they had everything to themselves and I didnt have to watch them very close.

After the park (and a quick change to rid Charger of his mud covered pants and shoes-he found the one mud puddle in the whole park), we went to the library and checked out 26 books. I just kept finding good ones. We are learning about Dinosaurs and Valentines day in school this week so most have to do with one of those themes. Mustang decided to use the men's bathroom and Charger tried to play on another patron's laptop, but overall the trip was good as we didnt break anything or rip and books :)

Saturday Daddy, the kids, and I all went outside to play. It was fabulous. To be able to sit outside and play on our swings and just enjoy the day together was so nice. We opened all our windows and our house smelled like Spring. Man I wish I could bottle up that smell!!

Today the kiddos and I hit the stores. Great deals at Penneys and the Goodwill (a different Goodwill) and then the grocery store. Shopping with a 3 year old and a 1 year old really isnt that much fun. Its not really the 1 year old, its the 3 year that's the problem. Doesnt want to listen!!

Tomorrow its supposed to be warm again. I hope to open the windows and do a good cleaning before the weather reminds me that its still Winter.

A Thrifting We Go

What girl doesnt love to share when she finds a good deal? Maybe not you but I certainly do :). I will generally always post my good finds here.

Today we went to the Goodwill. I have been having withdrawals. I dont really like Goodwill that much, but they closed down our Salvation Army nearly a year ago and I havent tried to take the kids to the one in the next town. So, this is where I go. I always find a few things worth buying though!

For Mustang I got a white crochet flower tank by Amy Byer-I think this will look really nice with jeans I'm jealous :). I also found a pink butterfly skirt and a new green velour skirt from American Girl. These were all 2.00 each.

For Charger I got a grey and red sweater vest from Gymboree, a pair of navy windpants from Children's Place, and a one piece shorts outfit from Gymboree. They were 1.00 each.

For Mini I got (still hoping for a girl lol). A brand new polka dot velour dress. 1.00.

And last but not least-arent these adorable? 4.99 brand-new in the package. I took them out to take this picture. I havent decided if I am keeping them or selling them yet. The baby will be in our room and I may hang these above their bed. Will see, but it was a fantastic deal IMO!

Hope you all have a great Friday!!

A bit MIA

Sorry that I havent posted as much the last few days. I have been reading on another site. Its a really cool homeschool site!! It is all free and has tons of unit studies and Lapbooks! I have been staying up late nights reading all of its awesome content.

I found a lapbook for the book Corduroy. We are just on the first part of it, making a little rhyming book. Mustang was happy to play with her scissors today. She also got to play with glue-until she glued one of the pages to the wall when I was busy with Charger.

We own the book Corduroy and I raided my scrap book stash to come up with materials to make the book. I will take pictures of it when we are finished-which should be tomorrow.

The website is HERE (click on here) and the Corduroy unit is HERE

Boxes are so much fun.

Mustang told me yesterday that she doesnt have enough toys. If you have been to our house you know that is so far from the truth! So what did they play with today? The box from my vaccuum cleaner. In out up around. They hid in it and climbed on it. Then Mustang drew on it with her chalk. Seems to be a good alternative to TV at least :).
