And you thought being a SAHM was easy...Part II

I had a long list of things I intended to get done today. You know basic things, laundry, cleaning, fixing dinner. I had some school planning to get done and even thought we might have a little fun learning about the Olympics.

WRONG. So WRONG.

The house we are living in is owned by my husband's uncle. It is a lovely house that we are enjoying very much. My children are the 5th generation of the family to live here, even though it is only about 60 years old, and each generation has left a few things behind in the house. Some are strange, some are commical, a few are useful, but all are things that I didnt anticipate being here. We really moved into a fully furnished house...and brought a house worth of furnishings with us. So, it has been a challenge trying to decide which things would stay in use and which things would go in the shed, up in the attic, down in the cellar, etc.

Why is this important? Well, last night, while I was cleaning out some of the kitchen cabinets, I found a can of paint. I didnt think that the kitchen was a good place to put the paint, so I gave it to the hubby to take out to the shed. He informed me that you cant store paint out in the shed (it will get too cold) and it was left by the door. He said he could put in the cellar.

This morning, the paint was still by the door. I saw it and thought 'I should put that away.' But, I jumped into the shower first to get myself energized before takling any chores.

WRONG. ANSWER!!! I got out of the shower to find, you guessed it. Brown paint. All over the carpet. The WHITE carpet. As I write this, it is still there. I have been scrubbing it all morning and am finally off to rent a carpet cleaner. I had to feed the baby first.

So, yeah. Having a two year old boy is, um, fun.

*snicker* My (then) 2 year old painted the walls of our garage with black paint. He is now 6, the paint is still there. :)

Why did I have a feeling you were going to say something like this when I read that your husband left the paint by the door? Sorry I am laughing right now thinking back to discovering some of the same experiences when my son was younger!

Ahhh! So sorry to hear about that. I have a feeling you weren't laughing about it at the time, but probably will eventually...

What?! No pictures? LOL. Yes, they are good at doing things like that. I'm sure if a bucket of paint were within reach at my house, MORE than my carpet would be ruined. Q was never like that, but B sure is into his 'artwork'.
Did the steam cleaner work?

Oh no!! Well, maybe you could do that to the rest of the carpet and call it tie dyed! haha!
Loved your preschool posts. I'll be looking at them more next year when we do preschool again-its been four years!
Thanks for popping over to my blog and visiting!! I love to do genealogy and after my final exam on Thursday, I plan on really digging into it next weekend! Have a wonderful and blessed week!

It is hard when you move into someone else's house. I moved into my husband house bringing all my stuff. It has been hard for him to part with some of his things. He has really let go of a lot, but it has been hard.
