Pumpkin Craft

Our homeschool Co-op has started a weekly preschool group. I volunteered to teach once a month. I have opted to do a group 'Tot School.' I will be highlighting the September trays/learning centers over the next few weeks.

This pumpkin craft idea came from My Montessori Journey. Inside the bin I included everything a child would need to make their very own pumpkin.

I also included little cards with instructions to the parents. The card inside read:

Pumpkin Craft
Level of Difficulty: Any {though some will need more help then others}
Objective: Take a plate, 2 orange strips, 1 green strip, 1 pipe cleaner and a glue stick. Have your child rip the strips into smaller pieces then glue the pieces to the plate. Have your child glue the stem to the top of the pumpkin. Use the hole punch to create a spot to attach your pipe cleaner. Use your child's finger {or your own} to curl the pipe cleaner and create your vine. Help your child as little as possible-some may be able to complete all but the hole punch on their own. Refer to the example whenever needed.

The end result is a cute little pumpkin.
