Garage Sale Treasures: April

I love yard sales. I love finding great deals. And, I love sharing my finds with others :). Mrs. Taffy at My Life on a Taffy Pull hosts a weekly link up to share our fun finds. So, if I find something I will be linking up each week.

I have to say that this week was not one of my better yard sale weeks. It seems that for what ever reason, like-minded people have yard sales on the same weekend. This weekend it was the dirty, overpriced junk yard sales. There was one good sale, but by the time we got there it was extremely picked over. That said, I did find a couple of treasures.

I'll start with the small ones:

A Dora crayon rub, that was included in a grab bag type thing for a quarter. I could have done without the other things in the bag, but I like these kind of toys to promote writing.

A small, wooden, Noah's Ark toy, $1.00. This will be perfect for our Godly Play set. We are currently using a Little People plastic ark, and this one is much more on the scale that I try to have for the sets. It is missing a few pieces, but that's okay. We have already lost one piece since we purchased it.

And last, but certainly not least, after 6 failed yard sales, I found this treasure lurking in the corner of a cheerleader's fund raiser sale. It was dismantled and in a box, with the puppets hidden under the wood. I didnt even know which puppet stage we had until I got it home and put it together. I purchased the Guidecraft puppet theater, 3 Melissa and Doug puppets (doctor, fireman, and a cowgirl), and an extra horse puppet (for the cowgirl of course)all for.....$20.00!!! Yep, I think I got a steal.

It is times like this that I wish I had been alone so I could store it away for Christmas. But, all the kids were with me, so we took it home and set it up.

And we have been having puppet shows all afternoon!

Did you find anything good while out yard-saleing or thrifting? I'd love to see what you found! Blog about it and link up to Yard Sale Treasures at My Life on a Taffy Pull.

What a fun puppet show set up! I think the Noah's Ark is great. It will be a much better size for the great Godly play boxes that you put together. Hopefully next week you'll better sales to go too. :)

Oh I heart garage sales!!! Looks like you did find some beauties! I got a couple of things today, but nothing fantastic. Finding things you actually are looking for is the best! Like the collapsible bowls I am looking for to take camping!

Ooooh I just love a good yard sale!! During the spring and fall, I try to hit different neighborhood sales each weekend so that I don't waste so much gas driving from one place to the next! My daughter comes with me and we always have so much fun!! I love the puppet stage you found!! That IS a good deal...those can be pretty pricey!!!
