Muffin Tin Monday-The Color Orange

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

This week's theme for our Muffin Tin Meal was the color Orange. This was fun and easy. We ate Velveeta Shells and Cheese, oranges, orange cheese and peanut butter, orange M & M's, orange bell pepper, and baby carrots.

I was able to get Mustang to try the bell pepper and she loved them! Neither Mustang or Charger touched the oranges. I dont understand my kids, oranges are one of my favorites.

Muffin Tin Monday-The Color Red

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

The theme this week for MTM was Red. I decided to put our Valentine's meal in our tins.

For dinner we had spaghetti with RED sauce and garlice bread.

And for desert we had Strawberry Shortcake with RED strawberries and RED strawberry sauce. Very yummy!!

Muffin Tin Monday-Eat what you have

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

There wasnt a theme for this week's Muffin Tin Monday and I was not feeling very creative. I had decided to skip MTM, but then realized that we had skipped last week. We were supposed to go to the store today, but with a ton of snow coming down that wasnt going to happen. So, I just put together what we had.

I am so glad I did! The kids LOVED eating from the muffin tins, yet again. They did not care that it was the same food we eat all the time. In fact, they were willing to eat a little bit of corn since it was in a cute little teddy bear.

Our tin:

Hot Dogs, Spaghettios, Corn, and Applesauce

And our happy faces:

Muffin Tin Monday-ABC & 123

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

It's Muffin Tin Monday time, but once again I have ended up posting on Tuesday. I just cant seem to make, serve, and blog about the meal all on Monday. I plan to start serving the MTM meal on Fridays very soon so that I can be more timely on my posts.

It only took a few weeks, but I was already sure that I needed something new for our MTM lunches, so I checked out Hobby Lobby and was very excited to find our new MTM bears for just 9.99 :). There were 12 in the package, the equivalent to 2 tins, but the cheapest tin I found was 7.00 so this was cheaper and cuter. Plus, I love the fact that I dont have to come up with 6 different foods!

Our theme this week was ABC & 123. I first thought I might try to come up with something to go with the Jackson 5 song, but I wasnt doing very well. So, I went with the standby food of ABC's & 123's with meatballs-my absolute favorite kid's food! We also had Alphabet Soup, which I did not care for at all, and Alphabits Cereal. Thanks to the FrymanFour I decided to put it in the form of the tree in Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I used a hotdog for the trunk and sprinkled more cereal at the bottom of the tree.

The kids LOVED this! Mustang even said "Wow, Mom, I love this food."

Since I had extra bears, even I ate out of the muffin tins. We had a lot of fun finding letters in our food and showing them to each other. For more great ideas head on over to Muffin Tin Mom.

Muffin Tin Monday Multicultural

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

Its our third week joining in on Muffin Tin Mondays and I have to say I am really enjoying it! Our plastic recycles from birthday cupcakes bit the dust, so we are using standard metal ones now.

There wasnt a theme this week, so I got to be creative. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr day, I thought a multicultural theme would be good. So, we had ENGLISH muffins, AMERICAN cheese, CANADIAN bacon (ham), FRENCH fries, red ROME apples, and SWISS cake rolls.

Both kids loved the Swiss, Americans and French. Mustang seemed to really enjoy the Canadians, and Charger loved Rome. I really liked it too :)

Muffin Tin Monday-Back to School

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

I know it's Tuesday and not Monday, but due to some obligations we were not able to eat our muffin tin meal yesterday, so we did today.

The theme for this week was Back to School. The first I thought of an apple theme, but quickly decided that would be hard and not too original. So I went a different route.

I decided to do a poll of my Facebook friends and ask their favorite school lunch food. There were various answers, but the overwhelming winning seemed to be pizza. Rectangle pizza. I knew what they were talking about because its my favorite too. I dont know where you get rectangle pizza so I cut our round pizza into rectangles. I also put with it other traditional school lunch foods.

We had pizza, french fries, ranch dipping sauce, buttered corn, fruit cocktail, and chocolate milk. The kids looked at the fruit cocktail funny, but turns out they like it. They picked at the corn, but at least they tried it. The chocolate milk was a real treat, my favorite part!

Our first Muffin Tin Monday!

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

I'd read about Muffin Tin Monday on a number of great blogs and we wanted to join in the fun. Thankfully, there wasnt a theme for the week, so I was able to come up with ideas from what I had on hand.

I used the cupcake holders left over from Mustang's birthday party and cut off the lids (I did save them in case MTM is ever a picnic). They were the perfect 6 cup size, and they dont rust :).

Our school theme this week is snow-gee am I creative, so I made a snowman in our muffin tin. Mustang had PB&J and Charger just had peanut butter because he hates jelly-not my kid! I took a glass and made a round pattern and then used clean scissors to cut out the circles.

I used tiny M&M's for the eyes, a tiny carrot for the nose, and a Cherrio for the mouth. I took some of the crust and stuffed it in as a scarf. The buttons were raisins, and the hat a slice of banana. Some things worked a bit better then others, but I was pleased with the result.

Then, I tried to make edible snowflakes with tortillas, melted butter and cinnamom. They looked cute, but did not taste good. I filled the last spot with extra raisins and carrots. When we were done, the kids each got a few extra M&M's for dessert. I couldnt put them in the tin, though, because the food would not have been eaten.

Both kiddos thought it was pretty cool to eat a snowman for lunch, and I have to admitt I had a lot of fun making this lunch! I'm looking forward to next week!!
