A few months back, friends of ours were faced with the news that their baby might have a disability. It was a very trying time, and thankfully our prayers were answered and all tests came back negative. During that time I was reminded of a song I heard a few years back and I wanted to highlight it.
While searching the internet to find 'help' for my friend, as if a Google search could actually begin to be of help to her, I was astounded at just how many babies that are diagnosed with disabilities are released from the womb rather then allowed a chance at life. Special needs babies have some amazingly special mommies.
I hope you enjoy this song as I do.
Sometimes Miracles Hide
by Dallas Holm
They were so excited it was coming to be, two people so in love
and now soon there would be three,
For many years they planned it, now soon it would be true,
She was picking out the pink clothes, he was looking at the blue.
The call came unexpected the doctor had bad news,
Some tests came back and things weren't right,
said you're gonna have to choose,
'I'll wait a week for your decision' and then the words cut like a
knife,
'I'm sure everyone will understand if you want to end its life'.
Though they were badly shaken they just had no choice,
Because they knew God creates no accidents and they were sure they
heard His voice Sayin'.
(chorus)
sometimes miracles hide,
and God will wrap some blessings in disguise
and you may have to wait this lifetime
to see the reasons with your eyes,
cause sometimes miracles hide
It seemed before they knew it the appointed day arrived,
with eager apprehension they could barely hold inside,
The first time they laid eyes on her confirmed the doctors fears
but they held onto God promise they were sure they both could hear.
(chorus)
Sometimes miracles hide,
and God will wrap some blessings in disguise
and you may have to wait this lifetime
to see the reasons with your eyes,
cause sometimes miracles hide
Though she was not like the other girls they thought she was the best,
and through all the years of struggle neither whispered one regret.
And the first day that she started school and took her first bus ride,
they'd remembered the words that God had spoke and they both broke down
and cried.
You see to them it did not matter why some things in life take place,
cause they just knew the joy they felt when they'd look into her face.
They learned that sometimes miracles hide,
they said God Has wrapped our blessing in disguise and
we may have to wait this lifetime to see the reasons with our eyes,
we know sometimes miracles hide. We've learned sometimes miracles hide.
**Please note that I didnt make the youtube movie.**

Music for Mommies Monday-In My Arms
I love this song! Its so fun to put on dress up clothes and dance to, pretending to be ballerinas. It is playing automatically today, in the future it is located in my playlist. Enjoy :)
In My Arms
by Plumb
Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contageous smile
And as I watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight
Knowing clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
Story books full of fairy tales
Of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You'll someday see the truth from lies
Knowing clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms
Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Because I will always
Always love you
Clouds will rage
And storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Music for Mommies Monday-Watercolor Ponies
This weeks song is another oldie but goodie. And yes, another tear jerker. I hope you enjoy!
Watercolor Ponies
by Wayne Watson
There are watercolour ponies
On my refrigerater door
And the shape of something
I don't really recognize
Drawn by careful little fingers
And put proudly on display
A reminder to us all
Of how time flies
Seems an endless mound of laundry
And a stairway laced with toys
Gives a blow by blow
Reminder of the war
That we fight for their well-being
For their greater understanding
To impart a holy reverance
For the Lord
But, baby, what will we do
When it comes back to me an you?
They look a little less
Like little boys every day
Oh, the pleasure of watching
The children growing
Is mixed with a bitter cup
Of knowing the watercolour ponies
Will one day ride away
And the vision can get so narrow
As you view through your tiny world
And little victories can go by
With no applause
But in the greater evaluation
As they fly from your nest of love
May they mount up with wings
As eagles for His cause
To hear the song, stop the auto music playing first :) Sorry, this isnt the full version but if you click on the link, it does play the entire song. I couldnt find it on Youtube or anywhere else :(. Its worth clicking the link, though!

Music for Mommies Monday-Goodnight Kiss
I heard this song for the first time many years ago. I was a little girl and loved the melody, but the lyrics were mostly lost on me. Fast forward 20 years, I now have 3 little ones of my own and I cant hardly get through the first verse without a kleenex. I hope you enjoy it as I do. Please note that I dont know the people in the YouTube video, it was the only online recording I could find on the internet.
Goodnight Kiss
Steve & Annie Chapman
I count it as a privilege
I count it cause for praise
to kiss my children goodnight
at the close of everyday
for I know too soon they're off and gone
and walkin' out the door
and I'll never have a child to kiss
goodnight anymore
It's very strange how times have changed
from the present to the past
when did they grow so quickly
the time has flown so fast
for it seems that only yesterday
I helped him with his shirt
or pat my baby on the back
or kissed away a hurt
tell the story read a book
wipe a nose or tie a shoe
they never ask me to rub their back
the way they used to do
once it was a bother
just a troublesome kind of chore
now I would give anything
to do it just once more
mommy bounce me on your knee
daddy flip me in the air
throw a rubber ball to me
and help me comb my hair
mommy tickle my tummy
daddy hold me high
let's go outside for awhile
or make a kite to fly
I count it as a privilege
I count it cause for praise
to kiss my children goodnight
at the close of everyday
for I know too soon they're off and gone
and walkin' out the door
and I'll never have a child to kiss

Music for Mommies Monday-What Do I Know of Holy
I have seen a couple of blogs with some great ideas for teaching music posted on Mondays. It made me think that we Mommies could use a few music suggestions for ourselves, to renew our spirit and challenge our soul. I think this song, quickly becoming my new favorite, is a great example of that!
What Do I Know of Holy
by Addison Road
I made You promises a thousand times
I tried to hear from Heaven
But I talked the whole time
I think I made You too small
I never feared You at all No
If You touched my face would I know You?
Looked into my eyes could I behold You?
(CHORUS)
What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?
I guess I thought that I had figured You out
I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about
How You were mighty to save
Those were only empty words on a page
Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be
The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees
(CHORUS)
What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?

Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?
(CHORUS 2)
What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of wounds that will heal my shame?
And a God who gave life "its" name?
What do I know of Holy?
Of the One who the angels praise?
All creation knows Your name
On earth and heaven above
What do I know of this love?
(CHORUS)
