Hard to believe that a year ago I made my first Tot School post. Here I am another year and with a brand new student. Of course, the pace will be completely different since Mini is younger then Charger was and I have a Kindergartner and Preschooler to teach at the same time. But, I am looking forward to the fun I will get to have with Mini!
So without further rambling, our first week.
Last week was Mini Cooper's party, and he got some great gifts! I set them on a little shelf in our school room and let her explore them while I had more formal lessons with Mustang and Charger. There are a few things for the big kids on the top shelves.
Each day I pulled out a few things and we played with them together.
We played with our new Melissa and Doug Butterfly puzzle. She loved it when I helped the caterpillar climb up her arm, and when we sang the Itsy Bitsy spider song.
This little duck is one of my favorites. You push on its head and it jumps up and starts quacking. Daddy brought it home to Mustang a few years ago when we were going through our miscarriage. I just remember the simple joy we all got by watching Mustang giggle with joy each time the little duck jumped. Well, this week Mustang decided she was too old for Mr. Ducky, so she passed him on to Mini Cooper. She LOVED IT! I loved watching her too.
She tried to push him down herself, unsuccessfully, but boy did she try.
She also kept turning him over trying to figure out how he worked.
This wasnt a new toy, but Mini Cooper is getting so good a playing with her Ikea color stacker.
One day this week she crawled onto my lap during coloring time and insisted on being given a crayon to color with. She did a pretty good job, until she decided that it was just as fun to eat the crayon as to write with it. I am just amazed at how quickly she is growing up and learning new things!
I hope you enjoyed our first week, even though we were a bit late getting it up! To see what others did this week at their Tot School, check out 1+1+1=1. God Bless!!
